VIC: ALP urged to resolve Yallourn dispute

MELBOURNE, Jan 12 AAP - A rise in workplace disputes showed the union movement was
slowly taking control of Victoria, the state opposition said today.

Opposition Leader Denis Napthine said with a new Labor government in power the unions
were returning the state to the 1980s when they dominated Victoria.

Dr Napthine said the unions were beginning to cripple the state, with a dispute at
Yallourn threatening power in three states.

"The opposition is very concerned that the government is failing in its responsibility
